The Medway Madness would like to wish everyone a fantastic new year and all success in 2010.

The Madness start the New Year with a road trip to Cardiff to take on the Eagles in the first of 14 Southern Conference Cup games in an attempt to take the Cup away from last season's victors, Guildford Smoke.

The Medway Madness would like to wish all players and their families and anyone who has followed our progress a very merry Christmas and all success for 2010.

There is a Southern Conference Cup to play for and snatch from Guildford as well as (hopefully) another attendance at the Sheffield tournament.

There will be an intersquad scrimmage, following this season's team photos, on Sunday 27th December (at the usual time) for registered players.

Congratulations to Guildford Smoke, Southern Conference Champions!

The Medway Madness would like to congratulate the Guildford Smoke on winning the Southern Conference Cup for the 2008-09 season. The Smoke were worthy winners in the end with a special mention to Bracknell Blizzard who finished runners up.

The first leg in Guildford went to the Smoke 7-4 and set up a great second leg in Bracknell. The Smoke raced to an early lead 5-1 but the Blizzard managed to pull the game back to a 5-5 draw on the night. This meant the Smoke took the silverware 12-9 on aggregate.

Next years Southern Conference Cup welcomes three new teams into the mix with games starting in January.

Congratulations to Loyde Fuller

Loyde Fuller, who played for the Madness from 2005-2008, was called up yesterday to the Invicta Dynamos to play in ENL South Division 1.

The Madness would like to congratulate Loyde on this achievement, something that represents the first player to make it from Madness all the way to the senior side at the Ice Bowl.

After leaving the Madness Loyde progressed to play for both Invicta Knights (winning the National Tournament in Sheffield) and Invicta Mustangs of ENL South Div 2 before signing for the Dynamos.

His first game will be a tough one against Cardiff Devils on Sunday 25th October, face off 17:15, and we would like to wish him all the best in this game.

The Medway Madness played the first game of the 2009-2010 season against Chelmsford Chargers and came away with a great 4-4 draw.

Results in previous years have gone the Chargers way so this represented a real improvement in performance for the Kent side, travelling with a short bench.

Goals came from debutant Neil Ratcliffe (1+2), last season's top scoring forward Nick Long (1+2), alternate captain Andy Rush (1+1) and ever improving Chris Ward (1+0).

The Madness now face new side, University of Kent Knights, on Sunday 25th October at 9pm.

The Madness were proud to take part in the Southern Rec Conference last year, finishing 4th overall, and are pleased to confirm their participation in the 2009-2010 Cup.

With the first leg of the final for 2008-2009 going to Guildford 7-4 over rivals Bracknell the winners of the Cup will be decided tomorrow evening in the second leg. Madness player Damon Cook, who now plays for Guildford Smoke, will be hoping to get his hands on the silverware and the Madness squad wish him luck.

The Cup for this coming season will see the incorporation of three new sides; Cardiff Eagles, Cardiff Ice Hounds and RAF Bluewings.

Provisional dates for fixtures have been added to the schedule page, but these are pending agreement with the rink for early ice time.
