On behalf of Medway Madness I would like to congratulate Netminder Lee Freeman on his selection to join the roster of Invicta Dynamos.
Lee has been training with the Dynamos for a number of weeks and subject to his registration being completed in time will be joining the Dynamos this weekend for their double header in Cardiff and Bristol.
I'm sure that you will all join me in wishing Lee the best of luck.
Assassins roll in 2nd in debut tournament

Medway Assassins, a junior roller hockey affiliate of the Madness, competed today in their first tournament in Eastbourne and earnt a very respectable 2nd place.
The boys turned in wins in their first two games against Brighton Stormers (5-3) and Hastings (9-2). Their final game saw a close loss to Eastbourne 3-1.
Playing Eastbourne again in the final the Assassins were unable to find a way to beat the experienced competition and narrowly went down 2-1.
The team were also debuting their inaugural Assassins jerseys, made possible by sponsorship from Medway Laser Tag (vist them at http://medwaylasertag.com/AboutUs.php)
Medway Assassins find local sponsor!

The Assassins now have a new and exciting sponsor to announce. Medway Laser Tag is a new and exciting laser warfare experience for everyone from 9 to 90 years old. They are based at Fort Amherst and give players the chance to act out 'Call of Duty' type game scenarios either in their courtyard featuring military hardware or in the tunnels at Fort Amherst.
Medway Laser Tag also are available for parties in gardens, playing fields, halls etc as they have inflatable tanks, walls etc to bring along to build the war zone.
Manager Carl said 'This is an exciting new partnership for the Assassins, and we look forward to working with such an exciting and fun events company, and we thank them for their sponsorship'.
More details will follow and leaflets etc will be handed out, so if you fancy a birthday party, hen night, stag night with a difference, then see further details on the attached link:

There can't be many occasions on a hockey team where your goalie marries your defence man, but today is one such occasion. The whole Madness squad would like to wish Faye Andrews and Steve Nightingale all the very best on their wedding day today.
The happy couple return from their honeymoon just in time for the new season starting too. ![]()

Sad news about Dave Tottman
[posted on Tue 2nd Aug 2011 by Warren] » Comments (6)
The Medway Madness would like to send their thoughts to the family of Dave Tottman, who passed away today.
Dave was a regular feature in ice hockey games around the South East frequently taking control of rec games as well as senior league games.
He was a great example of how an official should be - knowledgeable and approachable, he had time for everyone on the ice and enjoyed a chat in the bar after.
A big character that will be sorely missed from the sport.
Madness announce affiliation
[posted on Thu 21st Jul 2011 by Warren] » Comments (4)

The Medway Madness Ice Hockey Club are proud to announce an affiliation
with Medway's newest sports club, the Medway Assassins Roller hockey team.
The Assassins are managed by former Madness netminder Carl Pattenden and
coached by former GB international Barry Smith and are a Pee Wee team (age
12 and under) who train at the Medway Park Leisure Centre.
The Assassins played in their first mini tournament on Tuesday, beating
both teams from the Tunbridge Wells - the Sabretooth Tigers 3-0 and Bengal
Tigers 4-2, so already show great potential and skill to take forward into
future games. Coach Barry said after the tournament 'I am proud of what
players have achieved after only 8 weeks training, and although I knew the
standard of the team was very high, it was good to see how well they did
against established teams.'
The team will now carry on training, playing friendlies and entering
tournaments before next season begins, but in the meantime the team is keen
to secure sponsorship to enable them to buy shirts and socks and show off
the 'Madness Mask' logo in a whole new arena so if anyone has any ideas or
can help, then please contact carl.
On behalf of The Madness management, Warren said 'We are pleased to be
linked to a junior team and with many of the Madness players having close
links with roller hockey, this affiliation will be beneficial to both
teams! Exciting times ahead!'
More milestones achieved!
[posted on Wed 2nd Mar 2011 by Warren] » Comments (5)
After a slow start to the season it is now time to formally recognise some long serving Madness stalwarts who have achieved personal milestones over the first 7 games of the 2010/2011 season.
Our first honourable mention goes to one of the founding members of the club and current team manager, Dave Trevallion, who notched up 100 appearances for the club.
Mentions must also be made for Adam Chapman and Carl Scriven who both notched up half centuries. Chappers is a new member to the squad and is an established part of the Three Amigos line but Scrivs is a long serving, hard working member of the squad from way back before the Madness was even the Madness! Congratulations guys from all in the Madness.
In the point hound category another 100 Club inductee was realised when Andy Rush scored his 34th tally for the club. In addition to his 66 assists this tipped him onto the magic 100. ![]()

Next big milestone should see Biff Griffiths racking up 100 games played as he currently stands on 96.
